The official MacFUSE release doesn't work under 64bit kernels and the original maintainer hasn't touched the code in a while. Fortunately, the source code needed only two minor changes and then I was able to compile it under Snow Leopard. You can get the source from my github repository. For your convenience I've also built a package, you can get it here. DISCLAIMER: Use at your own risk, I'm not a Mac developer, I know nothing about the Darwin kernel. If it makes your computer explode, don't hold me responsible!

"two minor changes" – Did you just comment out the #ifdef guards?
If so, you should know that there's legitimate problems with the code preventing it from working with the 64-bit kernel. Recompiling the .prefPane is fine, but the rest should be run with the 32-bit kernel. It works fine with some rare exceptions (sshnodelay.so for example, already fixed though).
The road to hell is paved with good intentions. Kind of you to contribute this, but your disclaimer should be more explicit: "Will almost certainly cause data corruption and kernel panics with significant use".

Thanks... Been running Snow Leopard in 64-bit but unable to use my encrypted files. Thanks - this build works on my iMac running SL in 64-bit and has made it easier to access my encrypted files. So far no problems have occurred.

Looked around for hours for MacFUSE that works on 64-bit SL, then stumbled on this page. Installed the 2.1.7 release, Tuxera now works in 64-bit. I tested it out by attempting to transfer 300gb of data to a newly formatted (NTFS within Win7) partition. Attempt #1 gave me a kernel panic after 50gb. Attempt #2 finished 186gb before I decided to stop it. Is faster than Paragon NTFS v8, not sure if its more stable. Use at your own risk. Thanks for uploading it here to test out.

Worked really great on my MacBookPro 7.1!

why don't you contact the original developer and talk to him about your fix. it would be awesome if this could be released officially.

Used this to mount an ext4 partition with fuse-ext2 from SF... works fine after installing this one for 64-bit, and YES, while the project says it will mount ext2/3, it will also mount ext4!
